There's really not much to it. They're in love.

Janice is a recent Michigan State University graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is now working with a wheel bearing company, SKF as a designer and "enjoys" the 2 hour commute each day from Lansing to Plymouth and back again.

Bert has completed his undergraduate degree in Telecommunications at Michigan State University. He is nuts and is continuing his education going to school for a masters degree in Telecom. He is working at College of Engineering at Michigan State for the Division of Engineering Computing Service (DECS) earning a meager living as a web and database developer.

Bert and Janice met during their *young* high school years at the esteemed institution of Farmington High. They started dating (or in then terms "going out") almost immediately. Less than a year later, Bert went off to college at Michigan State University and tried to make something of himself. The test of the long distance relationship began (ok, so it was only an hour, but you can't have vehicles on campus as a freshmen). After periodic (just about every) weekend visits and large (some might say overwhelming) phone bills, they passed their first "BIG" test with flying colors. Janice joined Bert at Michigan State the following year.

During the fine summer of 2000 the happy couple got a crazy idea stuck in their heads and began house hunting in the Lansing area. After much stress and upcoming evictions from student housing, they found the perfect little house. They showed up to closing ready to sign their lives away. What was really nice was on signing day they were able to move in! No waiting 30 days! Because of this, Janice, that poor girl, was in for a sweet surprise. Once all the signatures were finished, Bert and Janice went to visit their new house. When they walked in, Janice had walked into a trap! Bert had set up a little picnic on the dining room floor and before she knew it, Bert was on his knee.

...and a little over two years after their engagement, they're going to get married!
